Halal Food in Vivocity & Seah Im Food Centre

Vivocity is an extremely big shopping centre next to HarbourFront MRT station. It is popular among locals for it's outdoor play area for kids and a rooftop wading pool but I don't particularly like going there mostly because I find the outdoor play area a bit boring for the kids, the shopping mall too big for me to haul my two small kids around and the halal food outlets a bit boring. Tourists checks out Vivocity as it is the gateway to Sentosa with The Sentosa Express located at level 3 of Vivocity.

Vivocity does have some kids-friendly features though:

1)An outdoor kids play area,
2) A roof top wading pool,
3) An indoor playground called SingKids Playsystem and
4) A recently added mini express train ride @ $5 per head that goes around The Promenade and Waterfront area.

One of these days, I will try to snap pictures of the above.

Halal food outlets that are available there:

1) Burger King #02-80/81
2) Long John Silver #02-94
3) McDonald's #B2-40/42
4) Texas Chicken #B2-24
5) The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaves #02-03
6) Garuda Padang Cuisine #B2-28
7) Secret Recipe #02-108/109
8) Earle Swensen's #02-117
9) Fish & Co #02-116

There might also be some halal stalls at the food court, Food Republic #03-01 and Kopitiam / Banquet #B2 -39 but you have to look out for MUIS halal logo.

Previously, whenever I go to VivoCity / Harbourfront, I would just eat at Seah Im Food Centre at the opposite road of VivoCity @ HarbourFront Bus Interchange. Used to love eating the Thaksin Beef Noodle there, don't know whether it is still there or not.

Last December, we headed again to Seah Im Food Centre to eat before going to SEA Aquarium @ Sentosa as it is mentioned at SEA Aquarium website that there is no halal food at the SEA Aquarium. (Guests are advised to eat at Malaysian Food Street next to USS but reviews are so-so and I don't see any Malay/Muslim owned stall listed on the Malaysian Food Street so we decided not to take the chance).

It has been ages since me and hubby last came to Seah Im Food Centre and we were not too sure which stall is nice. I just followed the crowd and stood in queue behind some uniformed guys (who I am assuming are regulars here) at Farasha Muslim Food, the lady behind the stall were packing Nasi Ayam Penyet non-stop but it was brunch and I prefer Nasi Lemak for brunch rather than Nasi Ayam Penyet. I also ordered Bakso Noodle for my kids. Hubby ordered Nasi Campur from one of the stalls it was so-so.

A quick search reveals that the popular halal stalls here are Farasha Muslim Food, Aspirasi Food Stall, Thaksin Beef Noodle and another malay stall between the rows and facing a chicken rice stall nearer to the NEL entrance - their gado-gado and mee soto came highly recommended. Hmm.. maybe next time :)

For our brunch that day, it was filling and cheap but nothing outstanding :

Another thing to consider when visiting Vivocity is the lack of surau at Vivocity. Usually, we would perform our prayers at Masjid Temeggong Daeng Ibrahim @ 30 Telok Blangah Road (about 1.8km away from Vivocity). Below is the map of the mosque:
